I am selling an all original World War II US Navy Mk. 2 “Talker” helmet.
These unusual looking, intentionally oversized helmets were standard shipboard items during World War II and beyond on US Navy warships.
The purpose of these helmets was to allow for crewmen in communications roles be able to have a helmet on over their headphones for splinter protection. They are also notable in that these helmets were used as a base for Imperial and Rebel helmets in the original “Star Wars” trilogy.
This particular helmet retains the liner although it is well worn and features some surface rust.
I am asking $100 on this item plus shipping.
