I am selling a World War II Dutch M34 helmet. This was introduced in 1934 to supersede the previous M23/27 models. These helmets feature a very distinctive blackened copper badge on the front featuring a lion…symbol of the Dutch Army.
It is distinguishable by its characteristic swooping shape. These were used in World War II by the Dutch Army during their resistance against the Wehrmacht invasion of the Low Countries in 1940.
The rear of the helmet features a hanging bracket which also allows a strap to be passed through to be worn on equipment.
The rim is very finely rolled over. These helmets were made to a very exacting standard of quality. Three pad liner with adjustable nape strap and roller buckle chinstrap is still present although the leather is somewhat dry. I believe that this particular helmet may have been reissued postwar. The liner style is the same as on pre-war models although in brown leather as opposed to black.
I would like $200 for this helmet plus shipping. To order or for more information, please email me at btracey296@gmail.com
