I am selling a World War II vintage Imperial Japanese Type 90 helmet with postwar paint.
This pattern of helmet was adopted by the Imperial Japanese Army and Imperial Japanese Navy in the 1930s during their campaigns in China during the Second Sino-Japanese War and used by the forces of the Rising Sun in the subsequent Pacific Theater against American, British and other Western nations.
Featuring the remnants of postwar green paint that I believe to be from reissue with the Thai Army, this helmet is the perfect restoration candidate for reenactment or collection. The Japanese manufactured only two sizes of this helmet. A small and a large. This helmet is the “large” which is fortunate as this is also the size of most modern Western wearers today.
Japanese military proof marking and remnants of the original factory chemical blackened finish are visible underneath the paint.
